I put this together after a student asked me to, and I thought it might be useful to share more widely for schools to edit and use in their own context.
This is an important conversation to have. The menstrual cycle can affect energy, mood, concentration, pain, sleep, digestion, and how a student feels across the school day. For many girls, it shapes a real part of daily life at school, yet it is still often poorly explained, brushed off, or only talked about in very basic terms. Students need clear and accurate information so they can better understand their bodies, recognise common symptoms, know what may help, and feel more confident asking for support when something does not feel right.
The resource covers the four main phases of the cycle, common symptoms before and during menstruation, what may help, menstrual products, and when to ask for help.
It is a fully editable PowerPoint that you can adapt for your own setting. At the moment, it is designed as a framework, so you can build on it in whatever way is most useful for your students.
You’re very welcome to download it, edit it, and use it in your own school.
